Overview

River Bottom Grille By Stanfield's, nestled at 1050 Clayborn Liles Dr in Florence, Alabama, offers a genuine bar and grill experience with a distinctive riverside charm. This two-story venue, seemingly repurposed from an old fish house, sits alongside the marina, providing guests with inviting views of the docks and the Tennessee River. The casual atmosphere blends a cozy dive bar feel with the natural allure of waterfront dining, making it ideal for locals and visitors who appreciate rustic comfort paired with fresh, bold flavors.

The menu here shines with Southern-inspired seafood and hearty bar staples. Signature dishes like the alligator tail and crispy fried shrimp anchor the selection, boasting a perfect balance of seasoning and texture. Seafood enthusiasts will appreciate highlights such as fried pickles, oysters on the half shell, and the savory crab and shrimp dip, all crafted with attention to freshness and regional flair. The seafood boil stands out as well—seasoned peel-and-eat shrimp, crab legs, corn, potato, and sausage come together in a communal feast ideal for groups seeking a shared dining experience.

Lunch options bridge comfort and variety, with offerings from beef tips and clam strips to flavorful flatbreads and fresh salads. Choices like the Riviera Salad and the strawberry vinaigrette salad showcase thoughtful ingredient combinations, adding a refreshing contrast to the richer fried selections. While some guests noted minor inconsistency—such as the Mahi Mahi occasionally being overcooked or coleslaw lacking a unique twist—the overall food quality and portion sizes receive applause.

Service at River Bottom Grille complements the menu well. Waitstaff are frequently described as attentive and friendly, enhancing the laid-back experience. The outdoor top deck grants diners picturesque views, though on windy days, seating indoors is a savvy choice to ensure comfort. The casual yet well-maintained space invites patrons to relax, share large burgers, dive into seafood boils, or enjoy a cold beer—like the recommended blood orange variety—while soaking in the scenic river ambiance.

River Bottom Grille By Stanfield's is a spot that calls out to seafood lovers, casual diners, and anyone seeking unpretentious, well-prepared dishes with a Southern coastal influence. Whether you're stopping in for shrimp specials, catching up with friends over oysters, or indulging in a big burger after a day on the water, this Florence gem delivers a genuine taste of Alabama’s riverside cuisine with a friendly, down-home vibe.

We sat on their outside top deck and had a great view of the docks and marina. The shrimp was fantastic, some of the best cooked I've had in a while. My dad said his steak was cooked nicely. My mom and husband both ordered the Mahi Mahi and agreed it was overcooked. Everyone enjoyed their sides and the service was great. We all agreed we would come back and just get some sort of shrimp dish or try the burgers that looked delicious when walked by.

Amazing place!! The foods great!! The only things I wasn’t keen on was the fish and chips (fries) said it came with an added side. Well it didn’t the side is the chips (fries). And the Hawaiian coleslaw tasted like regular coleslaw. The chicken was amazing! And the gator tale was SO good!! Keep lime pie was nummy. Not very tart. And I liked the fish. Our waitress was a doll. If it’s really windy I would recommend eating inside unless you want to hold onto your food that wants to blow away. I got an amazing picture of the local raven stealing food!! There’s a sign too that says the ramp down to the boat restaurant gets really slippery when it’s wet too so be careful.

I drove over from Huntsville to meet friends for lunch, waitress was very nice and helpful, I ordered the riviera salad with grilled chicken and it's absolutely delicious! Everyone said there food was good as well. The only thing I can say is we did not receive silverware for Everyone and no knives were brought to table for cutting chicken, burger in half or for steak. Otherwise was pleasant experience

We found this restaurant through a search, read previous reviews good and bad and decided we'd give it a try. Set in the middle of a marina off the TN river it's a two story build that looks like it possibly was an old fish house. It's small and quant and the atmosphere gives you a good old dive bar feeling. Our only negative is a large fan hanging from the ceiling covered in dust which wasn't pointed in our direction because nobody wants dust in their food. Hopefully that gets addressed and cleaned up. The overall atmosphere was very nice and the overall noise level allowed us to have a normal conversation. The small kitchen is putting out some great food. We started off with a shrimp and crab dip that was delicious. My wife went with the fish-and-chips and they allowed her to swap out the fries for a baked potato. I got the Swiss and Mushroom burger, both were really good. If you are a beer drinker, I highly recommend trying the blood orange beer. Our over all cost wasn't bad since we had an appetizer and drinks. If you are in the Florence AL area locate this restaurant and give it a try.

Seafood boil, giant burgers and beer pitchers. Great food and service. Don't skip the oysters! Enjoy like we did. The patio comes with a great river view. Don't miss River Bottom Grille

We went on a Friday afternoon and there was a 45 minute wait, so we ate at the bar. I ordered the shrimp and crap dip appetizer and the blackened fish flat sandwich. Both were so delicious! Service was quick, the bartender was on top of everything and the location can't be beat. Only draw back was the parking. The lot was full so it was a bit of a walk to the restaurant. I would definitely go back!

Fabulous little dining establishment located on the water. The coming and goings of the boats and patrons rushing in to get their fill of the fresh seafood and delightful spirits is just a bonus. The staff is well trained and they are more than happy to be there. The food was scrumptious from the first to the very last bite. We had the cosmopolitan martini while waiting for a table. I’d barely finished my drink when my text arrived that my table was ready. Then we had oysters on the half shell, hush puppies and crab claws and all were cooked and served perfectly by an attentive and friendly server. I also had a featured drink that was more than yummy with vodka, rum, triple sec, blue carasou pineapple and oj and I couldn’t even finish it , huge bang for twelve bucks. The entire meal was 50 bucks plus tip. Very affordable and worth every penny. I finally found the restrooms, they’re located outside near parking although a little odd it wasn’t inconvenient at all and they were clean. Great experience.
